Build Your Tribe and your authority !
Niche marketing and blogging was one of the simplest yet most difficult ideas to click for me when I started. After all it seems like you are a more successful store owner if you have a grocery store instead of a cereal store right?
Yes that is absolutely right. But in the world of online business people aren’t doing google searches that read tell me everything on line.
Instead, people are searching for specific interests and needs. In other words a Google search is in essence a niche search. And when you understand that, its much easier to understand the advantages of niche marketing!
In a niche you can become an authority
When you have a specialized area of expertise in a subject or interest you can much easier get the ins and outs of that interest down pat so to speak.
With research and time working in the niche you learn and are therefore able to transfer that learning to your audience in the form of helpful content.
Since the niche you have chosen is already an interest to you, it is much easier to put the time and energy into striving for that authority status and giving your audience a helpful and insightful experience in their time on site.
And as you become more and more educated in the niche from the research, keyword research and content writing, not only does the monetary aspect of your niche push your efforts, but you also grow as a sharer and teacher so to speak.
It feels quite good to offer high value content to people who share the same interests as yourself. Just as it is easier to talk sports with people who have an interest in the same sport you like.
If you’re a football fan it is hard to carry on a conversation with someone who’s favorite sport is cricket if you know nothing about cricket.
Niche marketing, blogging and keywords
In times past the internet and search engines were keyword driven venues.
That’s not to say that keywords and keyword research isn’t important! It is.
But the quality of the content is paramount. After all when creating blog content, you are creating content for humans, not robots.
And the evolution of what search engines and Google in particular are going more and more towards quality.
. An automated process (known as spidering) constantly crawls the Internet, gathering Web-page data into servers. Google calls their spider the Googlebot; you could refer to it as a spider, robot, bot, or crawler, but it’s all the same thing. This Googlebot pulls in masses amount of raw data
The algorithms for doing this are both simple and very complex. Google reps have said that these algorithms search for more than 200 data points on each search inquiry.
So while keywords are still important, “keyword stuffing” is frowned upon and quality content is king, and will continue to become even more so important.
Trusted authority versus spam
Success as an authority is the ability to connect and communicate with people. Many entrepreneurs have difficulty with this scenario.
Instead of first offering quality content and building trust as a person who actually wants to help people, they get hung up completely on the selling aspect and their websites and blogs become nothing more than spam pages.
When you represent the readers and content consumers as friends and offer them the quality information and help within your niche, then the magic happens and these people will be more receptive when you present them with an offer.
People can pick up on this! And they don’t need algorithms to do it. It’s called intuition and common sense.
If someone has a site where they sell, sell, sell and never give the site trust and authority of that person becomes suspect and that person’s audience will react as such. If someone wants to help other people first that same intuition and common sense will pick that up as well!
Those aforementioned Googlebots will pick up on the same thing and adjust site trust appropriately. If Google sees that every page on your site is stuffed with affiliate links and sells pages and little helpful content it will penalize your pages and site, and your rankings will suffer for it.
Earned trust and rankings within your niche
I used to look at rankings as though they were some magical thing that happened by chance or some unforeseen force.
But in actuality it’s not that difficult to understand.
It’s true that things such as P.P.C. (Pay per click) promotions can help with rankings and driving traffic to your site. And by doing so you can benefit from growing an e-mail list with subscribers or having a percentage of people accept an offer that you are promoting.
But as stated before Content is king and organic traffic based on content is still a must.
To get this traffic, you simply have to have readers who consume your content, and develop trust in you and your content. The advantage of niche marketing is that you have an audience that wants to trust you.
But just as a friendship or any relationship, trust has to be earned! You don’t meet someone and the same day give them the keys to your home while you’re on vacation. It takes time to develop a relationship.
Just like any relationship that trust can be damaged as easily as it is built!
But if you continue to build trust it can be a good relationship for a long time and will grow into relationships within others as well. Then when you put an e book offer out in return for an e-mail address the people who trust you are more likely to share that personal information because they feel that you wont abuse it.
And since you share an interest with them within that certain niche or interest, The offer you preset them with for a webinar or home study course is met with optimism instead of a suspect reaction .

Be a trusted friend and authority
Niche marketing and blogging is a great way to do business and make friends !
When you make friends, let them know you appreciate their trust and business. If they give you their e-mail address occasionally give them value and not just spam their e-mail with monetary offers.
Send them an occasional thank you or a free gift like an e book or news letter. Niche marketing is more than marketing. It’s relationships with your customers, clients and friends. And together you can have a long, earned relationship!
